Might have been easier to buy a proper, threated, brass fitting. But I had this available and, with difficulty, will get it to work. In order for it to work properly, it must be inserted from the inside the bottle with the elbow aiming down inside the bottle. The advantage to this is the oil mist in the crankcase air will be blown downward into the steel wool and not vent out the top. In order to insert this from the inside I needed long, slender, needle nose pliers. I had to practice this some to be sure it would go smoothly.
