Looking down from the top you'll notice the grill isn't actually flat. Before attempting such a fabrication you need to use light steel pieces and a torch or tubing bender capable of bending whatever you use to make a grill. This grill has the contour necessary to follow the hood as well as the bottom of the opening the grill sits in which is slightly different. Notice how well the chrome shows on the park lights without the border the original plastic AMC grill had.
