This is the bain of my existence. Being unfamiliar with antique Beetles I labeled every single wire. Never have I seen such a mess! Most cars, even antique ones, use wiring harnesses that won't plug in but one way. This mess has no pattern and VW employs single plugs that can plug in anywhere! How did them make so many cars this way? To make things worse, some of the people helping me pulled some plugs before I had a chance to label them and then there was some "rigging" of the wiring by a previous owner. Burned wires melted right out of the insulation jacket warns me why someone rewired things. What a mess! I'll fix it though. Good thing I have good wiring diagrams.
