67 Beetle Filter Installation
In this view you can better see the overall position of the AMSOIL BMK-11 By-Pass filter mount. No hoses are attached to the unit yet. That is the wiring harness you see in the picture coming out from behind the filter. I had to stop here as the bearings on my generator were noisy and I thought this the best time to have it overhauled. More pictures as I get the rejuvenated generator back and the engine back in the car. The high pressure feed line will be much easier than what has already been done. The oil pressure sending unit will be removed and a "T" fitting installed. Luckily the oil pressure sending unit on air cooled VW engines is already a 1/8 inch NPT thread so the "T" that comes with the BMK-11 will work just fine here. The oil pressure sending unit will go in one outlet of the "T" fitting and the connection for the inlet hose for the By Pass filter kit goes in the other. Considering the position of the sending unit the hose will have a short distance to attach to the filter mount. This will be a breeze! The only thing I need to concentrate hard on is to be careful and not chip the paint anywhere when I re-install the engine.
